Supervisor, Retail Dining Services

Job Description

The Supervisor is responsible assisting the Assistant Manager in planning, executing, and the accounting for Retail Dining Operations. The Supervisor with guidance from the Assistant Manager is responsible for menu planning, production. The Supervisor is to carry out these duties in a manner to insure that the best possible food products and service is delivered to the customers of ACES. The Supervisor will report directly to the Assistant Manager of Retail Dining under the overall guidance of the Assistant Director of Retail Dining.

 

Responsibilities

Daily activities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Training, student and regular hourly employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all budgetary, sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Assist in preparing Bi-Weekly Payroll information for units and submitting to the payroll department within specified timelines.
  • Assist with Transact POS Programming, as these will be used on a regular basis.
  • Assist in planning and executing weekly menu specials and submitting to the marketing department for advertising in a timely matter.
  • Execute high standards of safety and sanitation and insure all equipment and facilities are maintained properly.
  • Assisting Assistant Manager with weekly and monthly paperwork including inventories, transmittal's, transfers, cash accounting and payroll accrual.
  • To insure that at all times student, faculty and staff are treated courteously.
  • Properly securing the locations at the end of the day.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in the front of the house during peak meal times making yourself available to answer questions and solicit feedback from customers.
  • Ensure that Brand Standards are being executed properly and consistently.
  • Advise the Assistant Director on all matters pertaining to Retail Dining.
  • The Retail Dining Supervisor will cover any areas as needed at the discretion of the Assistant Manager and Assistant Director of Retail Dining.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree in hospitality, culinary arts, business or related field or equivalent experience in a supervisory food service role.

Applicants must have a high level of energy and a record of accomplishment. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. Applicants need to demonstrate problem solving ability and a strong commitment to customer service in a diverse community.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and count accurately to complete all documentation.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment pertaining retail dining.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of campus.
  • Ability to lift items weighing 0-30 lbs.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
